The new guy: Petr (Recruiter)

The redtoo family is constantly growing. Almost every month there are new employees starting at one of our international offices taking over multifacetted tasks. To help you get to know “the new guys” and learn about what they are doing at redtoo we have set up this blog section. Each month one new redtoo employee answers a few questions about his or her job, tasks and start at redtoo. This month it’s Petr‘s turn, our new It Recruiter in the Prague office.

Hello, could you tell us something about yourself?

I am originally from the East part of the Czech Republic near the Krkonose Mountains, but I moved to Prague when I was 18, just after finishing my secondary school. I have over 10 years of experiences in permanent recruitment business. Since the beginning, when running my own recruitment agency, I have been focused on sales/technical roles. In the last four years, as a part of a big international company, I switched to the ICT field and worked on positions for wide portfolio of clients. In addition, I was acting as a main trainer for internal DB and CRM systems for the Czech Republic.

Sometimes, I am a little impolite, annoying, grouchy, irritable and impatient. I really hope these are not the first signs of my mid-life crisis :-)

What exactly is your new job in the redtoo team?

On the one hand, as an IT recruitment specialist, I am responsible for searching, identifying and ideally, of course, bringing on board our new potential colleagues. They should both fit into our team and match the specific criteria of our partners. On the other, I am here to help establish/improve relationships with the HR colleagues at our clients’ side to make our cooperation smoother and to help our teams to continuously grow.

What was your reason for joining redtoo?

I was attracted mainly by the fact that redtoo is quite an interesting mixture of stable and strong, yet flexible – big enough to be a valuable partner for any client, but not a rigid corporation, the sort that has “processes just for processes”. I have experience from both small and large companies and this kind of compromise was something I wanted to “sample”.

What is your impression of redtoo after your first days/ weeks?

The office environment seems really dynamic and fast-paced and the start for me was quite hectic, although everyone promised it would calm down. (Now, 6 weeks later, I don’t believe them anymore J.)

I’ve met great people here who are competent at what they do and the whole team is very tight despite the fact that they are strong individuals. I like it very much.

What are you doing when not working?

Almost all the time when not working I am trying to spend with my two sons (5, 8 y-o) and their mother living near Prague. I used to do sports a lot in the past – I used to ride horses, play table tennis, practice Shotokan Karate and Aikido, but currently, I am fully and happily occupied by my family.
